Why did you choose the name "Milltown" Graphics?
Isn't the Mill closed?
Long before the Pulp & Paper Mill was built, the seaside village of Crofton was home to families that contributed to the building of not only the village of Crofton, but much of what is now the Cowichan Valley and Vancouver Island.
Originally built to accommodate the workers at the newly established smelter for the Mt. Sicker mines, Crofton has always been populated by down to earth, hardworking families willing to put in the blood, sweat and tears it took to thrive here.
It’s thanks to their determination, perseverance, grit and hard labor that we get to enjoy the place where we live and work today.
We chose the name as a “Tip of the Hat” to not only those pioneers, but to their families and all those that have come after them.

We live and work right here in the Cowichan Valley, we’ve called Vancouver Island home for decades. We’ve lived through good times and bad, so we truly understand the value of supporting the local economy!
